Special - Rose McIver in "The Lovely Bones"

"The Lovely Bones"
is a new film from acclaimed director Peter Jackson ("The Lord of the Rings" trilogy) that centers on the Salmon family that experiences the tragic death of their daughter/sister Susie Salmon. Young Susie watches over her family and their coping from heaven. She is also aware of her killer, who has not been caught, as he continues his life in the family's neighborhood. Susie and the family struggle to balance their feelings of vengeance with their desire to heal from the horrific incident.

Jackson developed the screenplay with Fran Walsh & Philippa Boyens. The story is based on the gripping best-selling novel by Alice Sebold.

Rose McIver (Summer, RPM) co-stars in the film as Lindsay Salmon, Susie's older sister who is a major part of the original novel. McIver is the first actor in Power Rangers history to have a starring role in a major motion picture while still starring on a current season of Power Rangers. She shares the big screen with Oscar-nominated actors Mark Wahlberg and Saoirse Ronan, who play her father and sister, respectively. Oscar winners Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon also star in the film as Lindsay's mother and grandmother, respectively.

McIver recently attended the film's New York premiere. "The Lovely Bones" will have a limited run beginning December 11th and will be released in theaters nationwide on January 15, 2010.
