Season 3 of "Sea Patrol" came to an end with the thirteenth episode, "Red Reef." One of the show's recurring storylines involved the death of their crew mate, E.T. (who was replaced on the series by Nikolai Nikolaeff). This episode brings that storyline full circle, as the crew of the HMS Hammersley find themselves crossing paths with Campbell Fulton, a suspicious character whom they have encountered in the past due to his dealings with E.T., who is trying to smuggle oil. They trace Fulton back to the wealthy couple who hired E.T. for the job that led to his death. The Robsens claim they fired Fulton and have nothing to do with the smuggling but soon the crew discovers otherwise. Nikolai Nikolaeff (Dominic, Jungle Fury) reprises his role as the Hammersley's Electronics Technician, Leo '2 Dads' Kosov-Meyer. '2 Dads' interacts with his crew mate Nikki, who is on edge over the Fulton case (E.T. was her fiancé). When E.T.'s fish hits the deck, '2 Dads' tries to help Nikki save him but it's too late. The loss of her fiancé's pet causes her even more grief. '2 Dads' later helps the crew track down the Robsens and arrest them after Fulton confesses to being ordered by them to kill E.T.
