Archie Kao on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" - 21 (2012)

Though he only made a trio of appearances during season 12 of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," Archie Kao (Kai, Lost Galaxy) made them count. In the seventeenth episode of the season, titled "Trends with Benefits," his recurring character, Archie Johnson, appeared in four major scenes. With the CSI team investigating the death of a gay college gossip blogger, Archie's technical skills are called upon on several occasions. He analyzes thousands of photographs taken at the college party the victim attended before his death, looking for evidence of those he might have come across. Later, the team discovers the victim had a live video feed hidden in an office on-campus, which Archie discovers belongs to a professor, notorious for sleeping with his students, which they believe may have been a motive for murdering the blogger. Archie later reveals video footage showing the professor raping one of his students, caught by the deceased's hidden camera. Archie is also present when the team figures out that the person behind the blogger's death might be the rape victim herself. Though, a re-enactment of the events leads them to believe she may have been trying to commit suicide, but was interrupted by her classmate, looking to take advantage of her plight for his blog. This episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" will re-run this coming Wednesday on CBS.

Brandon Jay McLaren on "Falling Skies" (2012)

Brandon Jay McLaren (Jack, SPD) made his debut on the science fiction drama "Falling Skies," during the show's two-hour second season premiere. McLaren joins the cast in the recurring role of Jamil Dexter, a survivor struggling to survive on Earth after an alien invasion. In the first episode of the new season, titled "Worlds Apart," Jamil is tapped by the commander of the survivor's group, Captain Weaver, to step up and assist the group with their technical needs. Jamil turns out to be an invaluable asset in the second episode, titled "Shall We Gather at the River," which finds the group looking to move on, but their escape is halted by damage to the only bridge out of the town. Jamil comes up with a plan to secure the damaged part of the bridge, just long enough to get their convoy across. He's instructed to blow the bridge once that happens, to prevent the aliens from following, but trouble arises when the aliens attack. Unlike his Ranger role, Jamil is shown to only be the brains of the operation, taking cover and cowering in fear when the alien ships pass overhead. The second episode also reveals a romantic relationship between Jamil and fellow survivor, Lourdes (played by Seychelle Gabriel). "Falling Skies" is filmed in McLaren's home country of Canada.
