Erin Cahill in "Blue Eyed Butcher" (2012)

Last week, the Lifetime original movie "Blue Eyed Butcher" premiered. Based on a true story, the film follows the story of Susan Wright, a shy, young woman whose quick marriage to Jeff ends in murder when things turn abusive, leading Susan to stab her husband to death and bury him in their backyard. Erin Cahill (Jen, Time Force) appears throughout the film as Jessica, Susan's older sister who is the catalyst behind Susan & Jeff's meeting, when she pushes her quiet sister to pursue the handsome man on the beach. When Jessica learns of her sister's abuse she urges her to leave Jeff, but Susan succumbs to his pleas to come home. Most of the film is told through flashbacks, as witnesses take the stand during Susan's murder trial. While Cahill's character is not shown testifying, she is seen often in the courtroom, seated just behind her sister, along with their mother, as the events surrounding Jeff's murder are recounted in graphic detail. Jessica steps in to take care of Susan & Jeff's two children after his death is discovered and in the end, Susan is sentenced to 25 years in prison, despite her claims of being mentally impaired due to Jeff's abuse.
