At the age of twelve, Nic Sampson (Chip, Mystic Force) made his television debut in this short-lived New Zealand series. "A Twist in the Tale" was a supernatural series narrated by Star Trek legend William Shatner, aimed at kids. Each episode consisted of Shatner telling a strange story to a group of children who usually embodied the characters in the stories he narrated. Sampson appeared in the third episode titled "The Anchoress." He played Jonathon, a boy who, along with his sister find themselves embroiled in mystery surrounding a cloaked woman, known as the Anchoress, as their fisherman father is in search of a new wife after the loss of their mother. Sampson appears in most of the episode.
