Anna Hutchison
(Lily, Jungle Fury) continued her starring role on "Spartacus: War of the Damned," in the fifth episode of the third season, titled "Blood Brothers." Her character Laeta remains bound in chains, but attempts to thank her captors for sparing her life, only to be met with their disdain. Despite her tenuous safety, Laeta keeps her eyes and ears open and witnesses several confrontations between members of Spartacus' rebellion, as they show dissent because of their leader's decisions. Spartacus shows up, announcing that Laeta will be released to the Romans, shocking her. Spartacus tosses her out of her own city himself and she is quickly taken to the Roman army's camp, where she meets Marcus Crassus, who is surprised that Laeta is still alive given her status in the city and her husband's murder. Laeta explains the lengths she went to in order to survive, all in an effort to help her captive people. Her efforts do not seem to endear her to Crassus, who shows no sympathy for her people's plight and is more interested in information she may be able to provide about Spartacus' rebellion. Laeta tells him everything that she overheard earlier, leaving Crassus to believe he has the perfect plan of action against the rebels. Neither realize, however, that the confrontations Laeta witnessed were staged by Spartacus and his blood brothers to trick the Romans, as he knew Laeta would reveal.
