Two years after his stint as Red Ranger, Brandon Jay McLaren (Jack, SPD) took on another starring role in the Canadian series "The Best Years." McLaren starred as Devon Sylver, an incoming freshman basketball player who attends the fictional Charles University where he meets Samantha Best and sparks fly immediately. In the first episode titled "Vertigo," the two learn they are both trying to escape their pasts and find college is the answer. But, things go awry when they head up to the roof of their dormitory, along with their roommates to enjoy some beer. In an attempt to impress Kathryn (Samantha's roommate), Devon's roommate John recites lines from a play and falls off the roof after drinking too much. When Kathryn & Devon decide to flee the scene, his budding romance with Samantha comes to a screeching halt since she wants to tell the truth about what happened, especially after the university assumes John committed suicide.
