Six years before he became Operation Overdrive's Blue Ranger, Gareth Yuen (Dax, Overdrive) had a starring role on the western remake of "Bonanza," called "Ponderosa." Yuen played the role of Hop Sing, a Chinese man forced to work in the town bar until the Cartwright family helps to buy his freedom. He becomes a trusted friend of the family and is the last to see Mrs. Cartwright alive before she is killed in an explosion. Yuen appeared in several scenes of the two-hour pilot episode.
