The horror film "Someone's Knocking at the Door," follows a group of medical students whose drug-induced relaxation is seemingly interrupted by John & Wilma Hopper, a couple of sadistic serial killers from the past, who return to commit more murder and mayhem. Vernon Wells (Ransik, Time Force) plays Dr. Tolstoy, the physician in charge of the Hoppers during the seventies. When the med students uncover the Hoppers' story, they listen to Dr. Tolstoy's session tapes and film, which give them more insight into the killers during their time in the medical facility. Vernon Wells appears in two scenes of the film, once in a flashback and later on film. In the flashback sequence, it's shown that Dr. Tolstoy himself becomes a victim of the Hoppers, when he's killed during a dual therapy session with the couple.
