Rose McIver, Bruce Allpress & Jon Brazier in "The Piano" (1993)

Rose McIver (Summer, RPM) made her big screen acting debut in the Oscar-winning 1993 feature film "The Piano." McIver appeared in the background of a few scenes as part of a stage play, where she and several other girls were dressed as angels, along with one of the film's main characters Flora McGrath (played by Anna Paquin). Bruce Allpress (Master Phant, Jungle Fury) also appears in one scene of the film. Allpress plays a blind man who is called upon to tune the film's notorious piano. He has a few lines in his brief appearance. Jon Brazier (The Oracle, Mystic Force) portrays an unnamed photographer who appears in a few scenes of the movie, including the scene with the play. His character is there to photograph the newly-married main characters Ada McGrath (played by Holly Hunter) and Alisdair Stewart (played by Sam Neill) at the beginning of the film. It comes as little surprise that "The Piano" was filmed in New Zealand. Years later, Rose McIver and Bruce Allpress would both star in "Ozzie," which was previously featured here on the blog. Allpress would later appear in "Cave In" with Jon Brazier.
